Doh!

Ladies and gentlemen of the web. I put it to you that in the majority of sitcoms, be they animations or real life, the male lead is always characterised as a bumbling flawed idiot.
How come this is not the case for women?
There is one exception and that is To The Manor Born

What about Hyacinth?

It's because women are for having the Sex with, and don't have senses of humour, whereas men are the other way around.

Richard (Keeping up apearances) is a bumbling idiot.
This statement also works with adverts featuring "families"

Listened to your version of Airbag last eve and it made me learn the Airbag for myself and it's dead good.

Trying to understand this stereotype of men on television is like trying to understand any other stereotype....frustrating. However, it is funnier if the man is the bumbling one, eh? Women that are unintelligent are annoying instead of endearing, for some reason.
